My story with hemorrhoid and the tool that helped me dealing with it.
As a software developer in my twenties, I could sit in front of the screen for hours without issue. But in my early thirties, that habit led to painful hemorrhoids. There came a point when I realized if I continued working like that — sitting for long stretches — my health would decline to the point where I might not be able to sit at all. Frankly, I even worried I’d have to switch careers.
So, I started looking into solutions. What worked for me was simple: taking breaks every 20 to 30 minutes. Just standing up and walking around the office regularly made a huge difference. It didn’t cure my hemorrhoids completely, but the severity decreased almost immediately — and it saved my career.
In fact, I was so convinced by this approach that I built a free tool that helped me to take regular breaks. It’s a Windows app called Black Screen. It blacks out your screen every set number of minutes. Feel to try it out — it might help lessen your discomfort, just as it did for me.
